Nicolas, a children’s activity leader at heart

Nicolas, the founder of Kids-Trip, is a fan of holiday camps. His own father was a camp director in Belgium. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree! From an early age, he took him everywhere: games, treasure hunts, shared meals, trips to the North Sea… His childhood was full of these wonderful memories. He felt completely at home when organising his first activities. .

Just as Obelix fell into the magic potion,
Nicolas fell into the world of children’s activities from a very young age!

Then came the time for further studies, which he undertook in his home country of Belgium. This is where he trained to become a primary and pre-school teacher. He spent a few years taking care of young children, an age group he particularly likes. What he loves above all is their spontaneity and creativity.

At the same time and while others worked on the farm or in the supermarket to make some pocket money, Nicolas preferred to organise camps and birthdays for children. Proof!

He was then recruited to set up internships and summer camps for a Belgian mutual fund. Thanks to this professional opportunity, he travelled throughout Belgium, Switzerland, France and Italy, particularly with adolescents from 11 to 16 years old.

He ended up taking a liking to it and decided to make it his profession by applying to Club Med as a children’s entertainer. He spent 7 years there and worked his way up to the position of children’s programme manager in the holiday villages.

In 2013, a new professional opportunity took him to Switzerland. This Nico is also an adventurer! A few years later, he was offered a job in an international school and spent almost 3 years there. This is when children’s entertainment fever catches up with him!

The year 2018 marked a real turning point and it was a discussion with a dad which lit the spark. The latter’s child, who was studying in Nicolas’s class, enjoyed outdoor activities. However, nature camps did not yet exist in French-speaking Switzerland.

Immediately Nicolas, who wanted to become his own boss, identified a need and took the first step to creating his own business. He bought his first 8-seater bus to travel around with the little ones. Kids-Trip was born! He quickly surrounded himself with a team of activity leaders who combine professionalism and fun.

At the time of celebrating its second birthday, Kids-Trip is proud to have brought hundreds of children on an adventure! From summer camps to extra-curricular activities, to themed birthdays, we are happy to share our passion for children’s activities with you.
